<romain> Hi
[17:35:35]
<romain> I would like to understand better the client-server interactions when using the pubsub module, because I may have found a bug in metronome but I'm not quite sure
[17:36:00]
<romain> Do you have any tool to recommend to easily send manual stanzas to a server?
[17:36:20]
<Maranda> Gajim, XML console
[17:36:46]
<Maranda> (Gajim is a client)
[17:36:53]
<romain> thanks! will check it out
[17:37:13]
<romain> and also thanks for metronome :)
[18:09:36]
<romain> So with the XML console I tried creating a pubsub node with access_model set to whitelist and published an item to it from the owner account. This works fine and I can see the published item in the data file of the node on the server. But I am able to request the items of the node from a different account, even though that account is not affiliated to the node (the only affiliation is the owner)
[18:09:59]
<romain> Is this the expected behaviour?
[18:12:28]
<romain> the spec of XEP60 says: An entity may subscribe or retrieve items only if on a whitelist managed by the node owner.
[18:13:35]
<Maranda> the pubsub in question is a pep service or pubsub?
[18:16:31]
<romain> Not sure I understand the question. Pubsub I believe. It's configure that way:
Component "pubsub.example.com" "pubsub"
[18:19:50]
<Maranda> romain, is that account subscribed?
[18:20:10]
<romain> the second account, no it's not subscribed
[18:23:15]
<Maranda> File a ticket on the github tracker, I'll look into it laters.
[18:23:18]
<Maranda> :)
[18:23:46]
<romain> alright, thanks, will do that. Also gotta go anyway :) Happy to help debugging later
[18:23:50]
<romain> cheers
